Beacon II is a new Hard Fescue release from Mountain View Seeds. Like it’s predecessor, Beacon II exudes multiple traits that set it apart from other hard fescues. This variety has superb density; the year-round dense sward keeps weeds from getting a foothold. Beacon II features high seedling vigor and aggressive establishment which allows it to form a solid turf stand quickly. It’s drought tolerance is second to none in the latest NTEP trials. Beacon II is a use-anywhere selection when soils and fertility are lacking, and irrigation is absent. Suggested for low maintenance residential turf, roadsides, parks, and golf course roughs.
